Of Mice and Melanoma: PDX System for Modeling Personalized Medicine.

چکیده
Targeted therapies have advanced the treatment options for cutaneous melanoma, but many patients will progress on drug. Patient-derived xenografts (PDX) can be used to recapitulate therapy-resistant tumors. Furthermore, PDX modeling can be utilized in combination with targeted sequencing and phosphoproteomic platforms, providing preclinical basis for second-line targeted inhibitor strategies. Correction: Validation of a preclinical model for assessment of drug efficacy in melanoma
The aim of personalized medicine is to improve our understanding of the disease at molecular level and to optimize therapeutic management. In this context, we have developed in vivo and ex vivo preclinical strategies evaluating the efficacy of innovative drugs in melanomas. Human melanomas (n = 17) of different genotypes (mutated BRAF, NRAS, amplified cKIT and wild type) were successfully engra...
متن کاملEffect of Immune Responses Against Hydatid Cyst Antigens on Growth of Melanoma Tumor
Background: Hydatid cyst is the larval stage of the tape worm parasite, Echinococcus granulosus. Human is infected by ingestion of parasite ova excreted in dog feces. The anticancer activity of different antigens of hydatid cyst has been reported in the previous works. In this research, the role of immune system in induction of this anticancer activity has been investigated.Materials and Method...
متن کاملHuman Cancer Modeling: Recapitulating Tumor Heterogeneity Towards Personalized Medicine
Despite diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic advances, growing incidence of cancer and high rate of mortality among patients affected by specific cancer types indicate current clinical measures are not ideally useful in eradicating cancer. Chemoresistance and subsequent disease relapse are believed to be mainly driven by the cell-molecular heterogeneity of human tumors that necessitates perso...
متن کاملEvaluation of 99m Tc-MccJ25 peptide analog in mice bearing B16F10 melanoma tumor as a diagnostic radiotracer
Objective(s): Despite recent advances in treatment modalities, cancer remains a major source of morbidity and mortality throughout the world. Currently, the development of sensitive and specific molecular imaging probes for early diagnosis of cancer is still a problematic challenge. Previous studies have been shown that some of the antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) exhibit...
